How does GreenSky financing work?
GreenSky is the lender and Oyster is the roofer. You get your written price from us and pick a package. Then you apply with GreenSky. GreenSky reviews your credit and, if you are approved, gives you your APR and loan terms in writing before you sign. We do not make the credit decision and we do not set your rate.
Do I pay more for the roof if I finance?
No. The price is the same whether you pay cash or finance. Your written estimate shows one price for the roof, and that is the price whether you write a check or use financing.
What affects my APR?
GreenSky sets your APR, from 7.99% to 15.99%, based on its review of your credit application. The credit choices in the planner are illustrative bands for planning. They are not an offer, and your actual rate comes from GreenSky in writing after approval. Not all applicants qualify.
Where do the planner's prices come from?
From home size, the planner uses Jeff's pricing formula: your home's footprint (living area divided by stories) at about 1.5 roofing squares per 100 square feet, the package's published price per square, your town's price factor, and the extra charge per square for a second or third story. Pitch, layers and decking are not in it. For a price measured from your actual roof, use the instant estimate, and Jeff confirms the final price at a free inspection.
Will planning a payment here affect my credit?
No. The planner is arithmetic in your browser. It does not ask for your name or contact details, it is not a credit application, and nothing you enter goes to GreenSky.
