What we collect
- What you type into our forms. Your name, phone number, email, the property address, anything you tell us about the roof, and whether you agreed to get text messages.
- Your property address. We use it to find and measure your roof from aerial imagery and to prepare your estimate.
- How you found us. The ad or link that brought you here, such as UTM tags and click IDs from Google (gclid, gbraid, wbraid) and Microsoft (msclkid), plus the page you landed on, the site that referred you and the page you sent the form from.
- Browser storage. We save that first-visit information in your browser's local or session storage for up to 90 days, so a form you send later still shows how you found us. We also store a few display settings there. You can clear it any time in your browser settings.
- Calls and texts. When you call or text us, our phone system keeps the number, the time and the text messages. When we text you about a request, our customer system keeps those texts too.
- Cookies and analytics. When our analytics and ad tags are turned on, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads set cookies and collect how you use the site. See "Cookies, analytics and ads" below.
- Basic technical data. Like any website, our host and the services that load on our pages receive your IP address and browser details when a page loads.
How we use it
- To answer your request, call or text you back, schedule your inspection and prepare your written estimate.
- To do the work, honor your warranty and keep the records a roofing job needs, like contracts, permits and photos.
- To send the text messages you agreed to. See our SMS Terms.
- To learn which ads and pages bring us customers, so we spend less on the ones that do not.
- To block spam and abuse, and to meet our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We use a small set of service providers to run the business. They handle your information for us, under their own terms and privacy policies:
- Netlify hosts this website and receives the forms you send (hosting and forms).
- Roofr is our customer system, where your request, estimate and job are kept. Roofr also sends the instant text messages about your request (CRM and text messages).
- Zapier moves form details between Netlify, Roofr and our phone system (automation).
- RingCentral runs our office phone line and its text messages (phone and text).
- Google provides the maps and the roof measurement behind our instant estimate (Google Maps, Places and the Solar API), and, when they are turned on, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads for site measurement and ad measurement (maps, measurement and analytics). Google also provides our email and the appointment calendar you book on.
We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or with a buyer if the business is ever sold, under this same policy.
Cookies, analytics and ads
When they are turned on, this site loads three Google tools through Google Tag Manager:
- Google Tag Manager loads the other tags. It does not keep a profile of you on its own.
- Google Analytics 4 sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to count visits and see which pages and forms people use. Google receives your IP address and browser details to do it.
- Google Ads sets conversion measurement cookies, so we can see when a click on one of our ads led to a call or a form, and remarketing cookies, so Google can show our ads to people who have visited this site. Google may use its own cookies on google.com and doubleclick.net for the same purpose.
We use these to learn which ads and pages bring us customers. We do not use them to sell your information.
How to opt out. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and most browsers let you block third-party cookies only. You can turn off personalized ads from Google in Google Ads Settings. You can stop Google Analytics from collecting your visits on every site with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Google explains how it uses information from sites like ours at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
We do not sell your personal information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade lead lists.
Text messages
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Texting is optional and never required to get an estimate or buy a roof. Reply STOP to any message to opt out. Our SMS Terms explain the program.
How long we keep it
We keep job records, contracts and photos for as long as your workmanship warranty runs, because we need them to honor it. We keep a request that did not become a job only while we have a business reason to, then delete it. We keep a record of your text consent, or your opt-out, for as long as you are subscribed and for four years after, as proof of what you agreed to.
Your choices: access and deletion
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email info@oysterroofing.com or call (843) 284-6333. We will confirm it is you before we act, and we answer within 45 days. We may keep records the law requires us to keep, such as signed contracts and tax records, and we will tell you if that applies.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards and limit who on our team can see customer information. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send payment card numbers or other sensitive details through our forms.
Children
This website is for homeowners and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top.
