The BAR reads seam spacing and rib height against the neighbors, so on a South of Broad or Ansonborough single house we specify an 18-inch panel with a 1.5-inch seam in a traditional color, and the piazza roofs and dormers get the same narrow profile so the roof reads as one material from the street. Where the original terne or slate is beyond repair, that submission is how metal gets approved in place.
